Inpatient Rehab: How do you Decide Which One?
An inpatient rehab is a residential facility that normally caters to significant drug, mental, or physical problems. There are both short term and long term inpatient rehab options. It is essentially a place where you can go to get clean or heal. Unfortunately, there are so many rehabs available it can be difficult to make a decision on one. It is important to take your time when choosing a rehab, so that you choose the right one the first time.

The first thing that you need to do is decide what programs you want. There are a variety of programs available to each inpatient resident. These programs range for intensive programs to more relaxed ones. Some of the programs available are:
- individual counseling
- group counseling
- 12 step programs
- family counseling
- medication management
- medication maintenance
Not all of these programs are available at every inpatient center, so you will have to decide which programs that you want and find the rehab the provides them. This is not difficult, you just need to make up your mind about which programs you want before researching rehabs.
Decide on the Amenities you Want

If physical fitness is important to you, you’ll want to make sure the rehab you choose offers exercise programs.
Another thing that you want to decide before deciding on an inpatient rehab is what amenities that you want. There are plenty of them to choose from. Amenities are useful features or perks. Many people choose a rehab based on amenities and the therapies that they offer. Some of the common amenities are:
- pools and exercise equipment
- music and art therapy
- pet and equine therapy
- gourmet food and chefs
- laundry and cleaning services
Although these things should not be the only reason why you pick a inpatient rehab, they do not hurt when all things being equal. Many of the amenities make your stay at rehab more comfortable.
Ask the right questions
Once you decide on a few rehabs that you want interview it is important know the right questions to ask. There are only a few really important questions. These are:
- What are the qualifications of your staff?
