What Makes Free Rehab Programs Different From Paid Programs

According to statistics completed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse the cost of abusing tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs nationally, is well over $600 billion in a single year due to loss of work, crime related events and health care. You are not alone in this struggle and there are so many ways you can reach out for help. There are programs that can assist you with the cost of rehab if you are in financial need. Most programs are available to a wide variety of people and as you would expect that comes along with a variety of amenities as well. You or your loved one should evaluate you needs and what would be the best venue for you taking into account a few important factors:

  • Do you feel the need to stay close to home for treatment?
  • Do you have insurance or are you going to have to pay for this out of pocket?
  • What is your financial situation like?
  • Will you need help financially or would you need a program that offers rehab at no cost to you?

What to expect from a free rehab

free rehab

Free rehab centers may not offer amenities or luxuries, but they can help you nonetheless.

Free rehab is provided by a lot of providers and you may not even be aware of these types of programs exist. The free services and programs that they provide do not typically differ from the paid programs, they are basically the same. You may find that they do not have all of the amenities that are available at some of the luxury rehab centers but again; the programs are basically the same. In a few states, because they are state funded rehabs, there may be a waiting list that could be quite lengthy. Being on a waiting list may be the only down side of the free rehab although it does depend on the area. This could be a huge deterrent for some as they may not be able to wait for treatment fearing they will fall back into their same old patterns of behavior. You should realize that each facility has some private paying clients and some clients who are receiving their treatment at no cost, there is no difference in their care and you would never know any of the client’s financial agreements.

What if I paid for treatment- would I notice a difference?

If you or your loved one could pay for their treatment you may not have to wait for admission to the rehab treatment program. For some this is a huge advantage and many families opt for this so treatment can began as soon as possible. You may have the option of going into a luxury type rehab program that can be similar to staying at a five star hotel. It is a choice however for those who are able to afford this type of treatment they do feel they can recover better in a less institutional like setting or environment. Whichever you choose it must meet your needs in order to get you on the path to recovery.

Where do calls go?

Calls to numbers on a specific treatment center listing will be routed to that treatment center. Calls to any general helpline will be answered or returned by one of the treatment providers listed, each of which is a paid advertiser.

By calling the helpline you agree to the terms of use. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a caller chooses. There is no obligation to enter treatment.
